Entering foster care at just 10 days old, Jeong In was one of the lucky kids to get an adoptive family when she turned 8 months old. The family successfully created a façade that they were a healthy and a happy family but in reality, the family continuously abused the child. After suffering such brutal abuse for 8 months, things got so bad that at the age of 16 months the baby ultimately passed away. The case feels like one of the stories where the system and the people failed to protect the baby. But maybe because there have been numerous such cases reported in the country that the protests and the demand for her justice got way out of hand and the country was forced to change and rewrite some of its laws.
